# What is instant provisioning and how long does it take?

> MacStadium's Instant Provisioning automatically sets up a dedicated Mac server when you check out in the portal, for machines available in inventory.

Instant Provisioning is the technology behind ordering a dedicated server directly through the MacStadium portal: when you complete checkout for a machine we have available in inventory, it's provisioned and released to you automatically, with no support ticket or manual setup required.

When you complete checkout, an installation ticket is opened automatically. If the server you ordered is available for Instant Provisioning, that ticket closes automatically. The ticket doesn't include credentials. It links to the portal, where you can view the server's IP address and login details.

<Note>
  If you need a specific configuration we don't currently have staged, or a larger order (see [How do I order multiple servers at one time?](/iaas/iaas-faqs/how-do-i-order-multiple-servers-at-one-time)), contact [support@macstadium.com](mailto:support@macstadium.com) or your account team. Custom provisioning takes longer than an instant checkout, and timing depends on what you request.
