This deployment guide on the Citrix Community site provides instructions for configuring Citrix Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) for macOS with MacStadium’s Cloud Compute services. MacStadium partners with Citrix to support this workflow. The macOS VDA is launched through the Citrix Workspace app on user desktops. MacStadium provides Cloud Compute resources, while customers must obtain Citrix licenses independently. The deployment can be done with or without a Mobile Device Management (MDM) tool.

Licensing & Procurement

Citrix Licensing details are available for review here. For enterprises, Citrix directly handles licensing and support, requiring customers to maintain a minimum license count and annual contract size to participate in their program. This ensures a structured and efficient deployment for large-scale operations. In the mid-market segment, organizations with deployments typically exceeding 250 user licenses can manage their licensing independently. However, procurement must go through an authorized Citrix reseller. MacStadium supports these requirements by offering licenses through its established partnerships. For small businesses and individual users with fewer than 250 user licenses, Citrix mandates the use of license and support bundles managed by an authorized Citrix Service Provider (CSP). MacStadium facilitates these services, ensuring that even smaller clients have access to the necessary support and licensing through its collaborative affiliations.

For support related to your existing MacStadium bare metal or Orka implementation, please reach out to us directly. If you need support for your current Citrix Desktop as a Service (DaaS) or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) setup, please get in touch with your Citrix Service Provider (CSP) or Citrix support representative. They are equipped to handle support cases related to VDA enrollment and licensing, VDA performance, Rendezvous policies, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
