When choosing a data center to start a subscription, keep in mind the geographic locations of all those attempting to access the server. If low latency is important, then the closer the servers are physically, the better the connection quality is. Here is a set of IP addresses, one for each data center, to test latency or perform a trace route:

Confirm which data center your machines are in

My Cloud in the MacStadium Portal shows which data center each of your machines is in:
  1. Sign in to the MacStadium Portal.
  2. Open My Cloud.
  3. Select a data center tab: Atlanta, Las Vegas, or Dublin. Each machine is listed under the tab for the data center it’s in.

Don’t use IP geolocation services to confirm where a machine is. MacStadium’s IP addresses are registered under its Atlanta, Georgia, address, so services that rely on registry data can report a machine in Dublin as being in the United States. For example, the Dublin test IP address 208.83.1.1 shows as Dublin, Ireland, in some services and as Atlanta, United States, in others. My Cloud is the definitive source for a machine’s location.
